Last week we had the privilege and honor of working with a bright and talented group of middle school students from Wilder's Preparatory Academy Charter School. Our studio offered an exclusive two-day Youth Media Boot Camp. We developed this event in partnership with Urban Media Foundation, in an attempt to educate and open the creative gateways of a technologically consumed generation. The first day of the event took place at the school. Then the event concluded at our studio the next day. What made this specific event special, (of course, besides the wonderful opportunity to make a difference in today's youth) is the fact that when all was said and done we learned just as much as (if not more) than the kids did.
As the event kicked off, many of the kids were initially timid. In particular, there was a young boy who was very quiet but extremely attentive. It was understandable that the students were shy at first since essentially we were just complete strangers to them, or so we thought. After our general introductions, we began asking questions to get the kids more engaged. One of the questions we asked were "How many of you have ever heard of us before?" We asked this question with the assumption that we were an entirely new entity to them. The aforementioned young boy raised his hand. Undoubtedly, we were taken by surprised. We asked how he was able to know about us without ever previously visiting our studio. What he told us next was amazing. He told us that he had searched us up on the internet and found our videos on youtube. He even recognized our faces and names from our grand opening video. We were blown away. First with the incredible foresight the young student exhibited in preparation for our presentation, and secondly with the realization of how effectively accessible it was for our videos to be found and viewed. What this interaction told us, is that the power of video is tangible and easily attainable. If a 13 year old can utilize video to proactively inform himself about an upcoming presentation by a local video production company, imagine what a video can do for your potential customers!

Video Help Within Reach - Long Beach, Ca
As video is becoming more and more important in communication so is the need to be good at it.Most people think that because they are comfortable with public speaking , or communicating about their product and services that they will be natural on camera. Once the camera starts rolling...well, it's another story. Since, we are committed to making sure that our clients get the most value out of the videos we produce for them, we had to come up with something to help them out. Last year we met TV personality and host Keri Murphy. Every quarter Keri teaches a 2 day on-camera training workshop here at our studio in Signal Hill/Long Beach, California. From the picture it looks like this is a ladies only event ,but the fellas are welcome too!...wink:) If you want to inspire and Influence Millions on Camera then this workshop is for you.
